US Olympic gymnastics therapy dog Beacon hospitalized with serious symptoms
Beloved Olympic Therapy Dog Faces Health Crisis
Beacon, the therapy dog for the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, has been hospitalized with serious symptoms. His owner, Tracey Callahan Molnar, shared the news on Instagram, detailing Beacon's condition and requesting support from his followers.
Beacon was admitted yesterday to an emergency pet hospital after some symptoms he was having were not reacting to treatments.
- Stiffness and labored breathing
- High fever causing great concern
- X-rays showed fluid in chest cavity
- Further diagnostics needed to determine cause
Beacon, known for his work with Olympic gymnasts like Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles, has been described as an 'emotional sponge' for competing athletes. While he couldn't attend the 2024 Paris Olympics, he continued to offer support at U.S. Olympic facilities.
